Fire Doors Drop Test and Annual Inspections in NYC & NJ 

An annual Rolling Fire Door Inspection and a Rolling Fire Door Drop Test are required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 80) to ensure that your commercial fire doors will close automatically in the case of a fire emergency. It requires all business owners and property managers to have their rolling and sliding fire doors inspected and tested at a minimum once a year.

Our Fire Door Drop Test Program helps building owners and managers stay in compliance with the most recent NFPA 80 standards, while maintaining the proper operation and full closure of your facility’s rolling and sliding commercial fire doors.

Our certified technicians perform the visual and operational inspection, testing and certification of your facilities fire rated doors. Once we determine your commercial fire doors are in compliance, a certificate is given to you indicating the date the fire door was inspected, tested and passed.

Commercial Fire Door Drop Tests Steps:

The drop test includes two steps.

- First Step: It will check that your fire doors operate as they should and are providing full closure.

- Second Step: It will make sure the automatic-closing devices reset properly. Any failure to pass this test may be immediately remedied through repairs.

After the repairs are made, the door may be tested again. If the door again fails to pass the drop test, replacement is then an option.
